Today at school we are holding an assembly to introduce a new program called Safe Schools. Your child will be bringing home a pamphlet about the program, as well as, a magnet to put on the refrigerator with the contact information needed to make a call or send a text.
We are introducing the Safe School Helpline because recent polls show that parents’ first concern about schools today is their child’s safety. That is our concern as well. Fortunately, Creston School is very safe. However, no community is immune from all potentially unsafe or harmful situations. The helpline is designed to assist you in reporting any wrongdoing that impacts our school, our students, or our staff. This can now be done anonymously using the helpline in order to protect your privacy.
You may use the helpline to report acts of bullying, theft, drug or alcohol use, weapons, or harassment. To make a report, call 1-800-418-6423 or text 66746 to leave your information. Your message will not be traced, nor will you be identified. The Safe School Helpline team will transcribe and fax your message to myself so appropriate action can be taken if needed.
Thank you for your continued support in providing a safer learning environment for all Creston School students. If you have any questions about the Safe School Helpline, please call me at (563)210-4948.
